A noun is said to increase or have an increment,
when any of its oblique* cases has a syllable more than
the nominative. If the genitive, -- by whose increment
that of all the othert oblique cases is regulated -- has the
same number of syllables as the nominative, then there
is no increment ; as, musa, musa? ; dominus, domini ; but
if the number of syllables be greater, then there is an
increment, which must be the penultimat of the case so

A noun is said to increase or have an increment,
when any of its oblique* cases has a syllable more than
the nominative. If the genitive, -- by whose increment
that of all the othert oblique cases is regulated -- has the
same number of syllables as the nominative, then there
is no increment ; as, musa, musa? ; dominus, domini ; but
if the number of syllables be greater, then there is an
increment, which must be the penultimat of the case so
