When Seleucus heard about this, he sent Heliodorus to ensure that it was done. When Heliodorus arrived in Judaea, he acted unjustly and committed many crimes, but was frightened away by signs from god, and returned to Seleucus. But Onias the high priest forced Simon to go into exile ["as is related in the book of Maccabees" - Ar. ].
