The other writings collected in the volume represent a selection from the very beginning of Schelling's philosophical activity, Of the I as Princi- ple of Philosophy or on the Unconditioned in Human Knowledge (1795)-- Schelling's second major work, which he published at the age of twenty--Philosophical Letters on Dogmatism and           (1795), The Treatises in Explanation of the Doctrine of Science (1796-1797), along with a later work, his speech, On the Relation of the Fine Arts to Nature (1807).
