That it had been the first powerful re-
" proach they had corrupted the people with to-
" wards his majesty, that he intended to dissolve
" this parliament, notwithstanding the act for con-
" tinuance thereof; and if he had power to do that,
" he might likewise, by the same power, repeal all
" the other acts made this parliament, whereof some
" were very precious to the people : and as his
" majesty had always           any such thought,
" so such a proclamation, as he now mentioned,
" would confirm all the fears and jealousies which
" had been infused into them, and would trouble
" many of his own true subjects.
