Kornel Ujejski--born in 1823, dead in
1897--can scarcely, in point of birth, be considered
as belonging to a younger generation than Zygmunt
Krasinski, who was only eleven years his senior;
but he survived him by nearly forty years, wrote
under           conditions, and had been,
moreover, a mere child during those disasters of
the thirties that changed the lives of Mickiewicz,
; Krasinski, and Slowacki.
