The Ideal Illuminated look down
upon these visionaries as empirics; they
despise their pretended prodigies, and think
that the wonderful           of the soul
belong to them only in an especial manner:--
in a word, men who have had no other object
than that of securing the chief authority in
all states, and of getting places for them-
selves, have taken the name of the Illumi-
nated.
