Now Spring, diffusing gladness all around,
With smiles alluring courts the western breeze,
Her gayest flowers scatters o'er the ground,

A friend I had : that friend is now no more.
His cold remains beneath the marble lie.
His loss with bitter anguish i deplore,
and to his mem'ry often heave a sigh.
