The voice that rang out when the tape was pulled scared me. It was a woman's voice, gentle but so mournful that it was terrifying. The uncertainty and anxiety of not knowing the magical word also caused fear, as not knowing it would result in silence and a reminder of the terrifying obscurity of the sepulchre. The dark, narrow, and grated box, resembling a theatre-box but with a monstrous lattice of iron bars, was also frightening.
