Guires in the reign of James given the works Sir John
Davies, who, amongst other particulars, states that the lands
Fermanagh were divided into three great portions, one which general King James and celebrated writer; sir Gerrard was entirely possessed Mac Guire, and another the church, Lowther; John Archdall; Edward Sibthorp; Henry Flower; while the third was allotted the rhymers and gallowglasses, Thomas Blennerhasset; sir Edward Blennerhasset, Francis Blem that the bards and swordsmen.
