And the moon is eclipsed when it comes below the shadow of the earth, on which account this never happens, except at the time of the full moon; and           it is diametrically opposite to the sun every month, still it is not eclipsed every month, because when its motions are obliquely towards the sun, it does not find itself in the same place as the sun, being either a little more to the north, or a little more to the south.
